Pic Freeze information

What is a PIC Freeze?

PIC stands for Primary Interexchange Carrier, which is another way of saying interstate long distance company. Your local telephone company can place a PIC Freeze on your line, at your request. Once it's in place, your long distance service can only be switched if you contact your telephone company and ask them to lift the Freeze.

You can prevent a long distance or local long distance carrier initiated change from being made to your account by requesting that GeoTel Communication Services Inc. freeze your carrier selection. After the PIC Freeze has been placed, any changes to your carrier selections can only be made and authorized by you. Carrier initiated changes will not be accepted.

To avoid being "slammed", ask your local phone company to place a PIC Freeze on your line. We've provided the numbers below for your convenience.
